Studying English
In the past when I was study in English, it’s the most important of my study and very interested to learn until now. I have been studying since I was in Primary school until to the post ten levels. But I didn’t learn systematically. For example a bout the essay and writing a paragraph I hadn’t learn well how to write step by step like we are learning in here. So, I couldn’t write by my own idea and I haven’t ever to practice to write like essay. But in grammar I had learn better than writing and had a practice to the test quizzes, and exam. Sometime, when I finished my study in high school my brother and I were practice in speaking English. Because I was real want to improve my English skill. But in my organization we didn’t practice to speak English just only used our mother language and Burmese language so I didn’t improve my English skills. However, I’m now studying in this Wide Horizons; I’m really having a good chance to improve my English skills. For the reason that, right now my teacher’s teaching a lot of English skills for us such as “Writing, Reading, Speaking, and listening skills. And our teacher could teach very well for us so I am really enthusiastic to study English and until today. Finally, English subject is the most interest studying and very useful for me.

Reflection of "Sai Oo" question

Difference betweens Wide Horizons and my last school “Grading and Teaching Method”.

The last school when I was attended at the KnTTC (Karenni Teacher Training Center) for two years. In that school, especially train for teachers who want to be a teacher and subject coordinator. Right now I would like to comparing difference betweens WH and my last school at KnTTC (Karenni Teacher Training Center). Grading and teaching method are a little different to learning in here and my last school. First of all, in here there are grading from the beginning of the school to the last final exam. For example, teacher give a lot of different grading such as quizzes, participation skill, attendance, homework, test, and final exam. Even though we pass or fail. At that time, teachers are meeting with us face to face and evaluate which part is our weak point and we done well or not well. Teacher comment us and gave our marks. And which part is we need to improve more. As a result, It good benefit for us. My last school was grading a little different in here. They used to grading (continuing assessment, quizzes, attendance, homework, and final exam). Even we pass or fail those of exams teacher give (plus and minus). For example, If we pass those exams we will see our grade as (A+/A, B+/B, C+/C etc). At that time, when we finished our each semester exams, teachers gave us report cards but teachers didn’t meet with us one by one. Another one is teaching method. It’s very different teaching method in this WH school and my last school. Because my last school mostly teachers were following by text book. Thus, sometime student was boring. In this Wide Horizons is very different teaching method. In here, our teacher’s use a lot of different styles. Such as every class teacher changing styles. At that time, mostly student hadn’t boring and very exciting, and very interested. For example, every student are can participation, can using freely our critical thinking. Therefore, it’s very different between in grading and teaching method in this Wide Horizons and my last school when I was attended from that.

Kyaw Htet Question Reflection

On Saturday, 19 September, we went to the teacher Brooke house and met with the MEF students. Firstly, we make new friends with them. At that time, I was very happy and very excited because I never meet with them before. It’s the first time for me. During that day, we choose some of their games and our games. And then, I was enjoyed with their activities and our activities that make me interested and also their drummer. In addition, they were very friendly with us and we were talking each other while we were eating together such as chicken and sprite etc. Finally, we had exchange with MEF students that’s one kind of relaxed my feeling with them. The last first semester, I understanding part is “Independent Clause and Dependent Clause in English class. Firstly, I was very confused a bout it. Because I never heard before what is Independent Clause and dependent Clause. At that day, teacher’s taught a bout it and explaining two or three times for us. So, I understudied a little. And then, teacher’s gave homework a bout it. At that time, I usually make mistake because I couldn’t divided well which one is IC sentences and DC sentences. After then, I tried to remember the formulas: Such as DC, IC. IC DC. IC. IC. For example: (When I was learning a bout the IC and DC, it was very confused for me. It’s DC,IC. Therefore, Independent Clause and Dependent Clause is my understanding the past semester.

Reflection for " Teacher Kelly" on wednesday lesson

If I have to meet with the community leaders, villagers, and workers for survey to get real information. I should have ability that such as “knowledge skills, sympathy, trustworthiness, tolerance, enthusiasm, dignity, honesty, and fairness, equity etc… Because those skills is very useful for me when I have to go survey with the community leaders, villagers, and workers. Before, I have learned theses skills from the teacher “Kelly” on the Wednesday. I had a few experience when I went to survey in my community a bout the education level in each section. At that time, I though that this characters I have already used some of characters according to my experience. But, at that time I didn’t know exactly a bout it. Now I have already learned specific from the teacher “Kelly”. So, I knew more than before I was worked in the past. All of the characteristics: my strong points are trustworthiness, tolerance, fairness, equity, and sympathy. Because, If I’m meet with the community leaders, villagers, and worker. At first, I have to build trustworthiness each other. And then, whatever, I discuss/do with them. I must keep tolerance, fairness, equity, and sympathy in my mind. Therefore, I stronger believe that these characteristics is real usefully for us next week when begin our community project.
These characteristics: I real need to learn/improve more these skills that such as “knowledge skills, courage, and good decision etc. Because, this is very important for me when I go to do that community project to reach my goal and to be success. I don’t have enough abilities this skill. I can’t get real information from that community. But now I just only request from the teacher at that time, I understanding what’s mean and what’s teacher teach. In the realistic, I can’t apply it. However, the next week we will have a chance to begin our community project. At that time, I’ll be applying these skills as much as I can what I had learned from that. During I am doing with that community leaders, villagers, and workers, if I don’t have enough knowledge skills, and don’t have good decision-making from that. I though that, I can’t do effective this activities when I meet with that. However, I need to using this skills and If I can’t successful to reach my goal. At that time, I will never step back it for our community project and need to reflection from that. And then, I believe that this is the first experience our community from that and need to adaptation until to success our goal.

My happiness day of my life

My happiness day was when I have got a new bicycle from my orphanage dorm leaders. Because, when I was young I was stayed at orphanage dormitory for around over 13 years ago. And then I was finished graduated grade 10th from that. When I was finished graduated grade 10th from that I was worked a normal teacher. At that time, I was teaching at middle school no-3 for one year. After then, I have to continue to study at KnTC (Karenni Teacher College) for two years academic. At that time, I got a chance to stay at orphanage dormitory. At dormitory, my responsibility was to look after and guide the children. Also, every day I needed to set off school early morning because my dorm was a little distance from the school. Accordingly, my dorm’s leader who loved me as their son bought for me a new bicycle to travel to school with it. Therefore, that day I extremely was so happy.

The most I remember of English class for this semester.

The most I remember of English class for this semester was presenting in font of the class. Before, we are presenting in font of the class. I was practicing many times with my classmates of our own group. Because, teacher will grade for our presentation, so I have to preparing well as I want to know my weakness and want to get high grade. A bout the presentation class, I was very interested to do it. Because, I need to improved more a bout presentation skill such as persuasive language, body language, enunciation, eye content, actively, speak fluently, power point, and persuasive to audiences. Wherever, I was presented in font of the peoples, I had confident to do it. But on a long period ago, I had just only used to “Burmese language and Karenni language”. And then, I didn’t used to spoke “English language” to present in font of the people. So, this is the first time for me to used English language and was very enthusiastic a bout my presentation. However, I had got a lot of things presentation skill from the teacher. So, we must use this presentation skill for the future. For example, when, I was presenting in font of the class. I knew a lot of my weakness from the teacher and also from my classmates. Therefore, I was very grateful for them. And then, wherever we have to present something we must use this presentation skill. It’s very useful for us and to persuasive to the audiences. Finally, I have to use step by step this presentation skill and will never forget to use it.

English Reflection four of “Lai” Questions

Before I arrived at Wide Horizons School, I didn’t learn well about any presentation skill .Firstly, when I arrived here, I have a good chance to presentation in front of my classmates and teacher. But when I have the first time presentation in school, I was very interested because I didn’t have a chance to practice like this. At that time I have a lot of weakness point a bout the presentation such as I can’t speak fluently, bad enunciation, bad body language, and lack of eyes content to keep audience interested. And I felt a little shy and worry a bout to presentation in front of the class. Because a long period ago anymore, I never used to practicing with English language for presentation. However, it’s my favorites to do it. And I love so much to teach and presentation. Thus, I really want to be a good teacher and a good presenter. Right now, I have a good teacher and our teacher taught a lot of many difference skills for us to improve our presentation skills. So, when I have practice for presentation in front of the class. It’s very interested for me to practices. After, I was presented in front of the class. I have got feed back of first presentation from my classmates and teacher. At that time I know my weak point how to improve more than before I done. And I would like to speak English very fluently. I would like to say thank for encouragement of my classmates and teacher. It’s very important for me to improve my presentation skill. So, I must try hard and need to learn more from my teacher. I really like presentation skill and very enjoy to presenting in front of the class. I hope so we might be improve more than before we done.
